As the summer comes to a close, more and more social posts, emails, and phone calls are being made all in the name of one event — Dreamforce. This yearly event is celebrated by the entire Salesforce ecosystem but what exactly is Dreamforce?
Taken from the experts themselves at Salesforce, “Dreamforce is an annual four-day event that brings together the entire Salesforce community. It’s an experience that celebrates Trailblazers and customer success. Dreamforce is where Trailblazers from all over the world gather to share their stories, their successes, and learn from each other.”
There’s a lot to know about this event which is why we’ve gathered everything you need to know before attending Dreamforce!

The Four W’s Answered – Dreamforce Addition


Dreamforce is such an impactful and diverse event, you may want to instead ask, “What isn’t Dreamforce?”. Dreamforce brings together customers, thought leaders, and industry pioneers for events and content tailored to every industry, role, and company size.


Grab your jacket! Dreamforce is held during a different week every year, but always in the fall. This year, Dreamforce is Tuesday, November 19, 2019–Friday, November 22, 2019.


As mentioned, Dreamforce is the biggest Salesforce event of the year. It doesn’t just take place in a conference center or hotel, it spans throughout the city of San Francisco. It’s headquartered at Moscone Center but also encompasses the Marriott Marquis, InterContinental, Palace Hotel, Hilton Union Square, Park Central, and Westin St. Francis.

What Happens at Dreamforce?


There are countless opportunities for professional education and development at Dreamforce. With over 2,700 breakout sessions, training and certification opportunities, hands-on demos, and hundreds of partners and solutions, it’s easy to get overwhelmed. It’s important to look at the schedule ahead of time to make sure you hit every stop on your list.

Giving back

The Salesforce ecosystem is passionate about giving back and Dreamforce is no exception. This year is already sold out so there will be many hands, eager to help others. Some charities Dreamforce highlighted in the past include UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals, (RED), Girl Scouts of the USA, Children of Shelters, Bay Area Workforce Development, Larkin Street Youth Services, Hamilton Families, and Oakland and San Francisco Unified School Districts.
In addition, companies in the campground are able to pledge 1% to a charity of their choice. This year, Geopointe is proud to pledge 1% to the American Red Cross.


Last year there were over 160,000 attendees and the same number, if not more, are expected in 2019. This offers a unique opportunity to network with people from many industries, organizations, and backgrounds.

Having fun

Although all of the stuff above is great, Dreamforce isn’t all work and no play. Trailblazers love to take selfies with Astro and connect at the numerous power breakfasts or lunches. There are even evening cocktail events and meetups at local restaurants. After a long day of learning, take the opportunity to keep the fun going at one of the numerous parties and events, capped off with the ultimate party: Dreamfest, an event that is part party, part music festival, and part fundraiser benefiting the UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals.
