Manually Setting up Profiles for Geopointe Access
When Geopointe is installed, the instructions ask you to use one of the Geopointe profiles.
If you did not do that and chose to apply settings to Admins only, then this post is for you. It will explain how to setup your Profiles for Geopointe access. If you have enabled your users for access, but they are getting permissions errors on things, here’s what you need to do.
Deploy Custom Objects
This is more of an upgrade step, but can bite you if you forgot to do it and non-admins start using the application. Make sure all custom objects are deployed!
- Go to Setup | View Installed Packages in Salesforce
- Click through on the Geopointe record
- Click the Deploy button and follow the instructions to deploy any custom objects that are not yet deployed. There is a chance there is nothing to deploy. If that’s the case, that’s a good thing.
Edit the Profile in question
Give access to the Geopointe application
Edit the tab access
End User access
Edit the Object access
End User access
After you have completed this, save the profile.
Apex Class access
Scroll to the bottom of the profile and edit the Apex Class Access related list. Give access to the geopointe.API class.
Visualforce Page access
Scroll to the bottom of the profile and edit the Visualforce Page Access related list. Give access to all of the Pages that start with the word “geopointe”.
